We are looking for a Lead Buyer Packaging (m/f). In this position, you will be responsible for all purchasing processes regarding the packaging segment. You will develop and implement sourcing strategies aimed at cost reduction and value enhancement and be required to work closely with local plant procurement teams, different business units and other stakeholders to support the overall company strategy. You will actively co-develop and advance the implementation of “best in class” procurement processes across the division and make sure the company achieves and outperforms targeted cost savings, working capital reduction and procurement benefits.   • Manage and be responsible for all purchasing processes regarding the packaging segment
  • Initiate and oversee standardization of products and processes within the segment
  • Lead strategic initiatives to strengthen the company’s competitive advantage and engage with key suppliers to ensure that maximum value is generated through the supply base
  • Deliver tangible results through significant and sustainable cost reduction, operational supply management efficiency and improved supplier performance
  • Establish a best practice approach across the company regarding key procurement elements, including:
    • category and supplier management
    • procurement processes
    • negotiation of contracts
    • IT/data process and strategy
    • compliance and benefits management
    • identification of opportunities and risk management
    • organisationaldesign
  • Strategically negotiate and manage major contracts
  • Support and guide plant procurement teams regarding assigned spend categories
  • Continuously monitor and improve procurement and supplier performance
  • Provide expertise and advance continuous procurement improvement across company
  • Align with BU leaders and other stakeholders on procurement strategy and actions
  • Achieve targeted cost reductions and increased value from suppliers
  • Meet growth objectives and ensure key milestones are met in procurement transition towards “best in class” category management
  • Improve and leverage relationship-based category and supplier procurement systems locally and globally
  • Engage with key stakeholders across plants and business units

  • Relevant, completed degree (or equivalent) and procurement accreditation
  • Several years of experience in leading the successful delivery of procurement strategies in the field of directs (packaging, chemicals, raw materials etc.) in an international production environment, including production methods, raw material costs and processing
  • Experience with a highly diversified product portfolio and great variance
  • Experience with process set-up at “greenfield sites”
  • Experience of working and leading a team across international boundaries in Europe incl.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience in supplier/contract management, purchasing process redesign and other operational procurement matters
  • Preparedness to frequently travel across Europe, occasionally to the US
  • Experience of working with remotely based teams
  • Core technical procurement competencies
  • Thorough understanding of wider supply chains
  • Proven experience of driving change and global stakeholder management
  • Ability of managing and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups
  • Effective negotiation and contract management skills
  • IT literacy and experience with E-catalogue systems
  • Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Consumer products background is of advantage
  • Fluency in English
